Solid Dark.

The story of Solid Dark begins with Kevin Stäger. Under his artist alias Kevqube, he has been deeply immersed in techno since 2016, building on a background in music and event production that began in 2012. In 2017, Stäger co-founded his first techno label, BUNKR, alongside Kai Uner. After releasing tracks and hosting multiple events between 2017 and 2020, the project entered a pandemic-induced hiatus. In 2022, Stäger joined Swiss label Solidarity and saw an opportunity to give raw, unadulterated underground techno its own distinct home while building on the collective's established foundation. This led to the birth of Solid Dark: a name that honors its origins while defining its sonic direction.

Together with David Kawka, Stäger laid the groundwork for the project. Under the banner Solid Dark by Solidarity, they created a hybrid platform that reaches beyond a traditional record label. Alongside the music, they launched an event series to bring the sound to life on the dance floor through dark, energetic club nights.

In 2025, Juan Vasquez, known as Dee Jota, joined the project. A long-standing figure in the local techno scene and promoter of Somnia, he brought extensive event and production experience to the collective.

That same year, Solidarity transitioned into SDY Entertainment Ltd., with Kevin Stäger, Juan Vasquez, and David Kawka serving on its board. Solid Dark remains an independent brand managed by SDY Entertainment Ltd. and owned by Kevin Stäger, with its raw artistic identity at the center of its direction.

Cédric Mokus, better known as Kadric, contributes to the label's musical direction and sonic identity. Today, Solid Dark brings together experience, passion, and technical precision, supporting artists beyond the mainstream and connecting Bern's underground scene with dance floors further afield.
